Product Management, (the technical to customer interface)

“It’s a brilliant product!.......... So why aren’t we selling more?”

Architects, Engineers and Technicians generally approach a problem from a design perspective, but a user buys the product for a purpose. The product may be brilliant and the customer really needs it, but in the overlap between design and fit for purpose, bits often get missed or put in the wrong place. Nothing wrong with that providing it gets captured, corrected and the process and product changed accordingly, before delivery. If unaddressed, the user becomes frustrated because although the product is good, it doesn’t quite do something or work in a way that they would sensibly expect.

Taking the wheel.

So, how can we help?

The approach is very much hands on. We do not consult from the sidelines. We visit you and spend time at your facilities, learning your new or existing product inside out. We review from technical design to how a customer would view and use it. The kinds of points we assess in our comprehensive check list are; ergonomics, efficacy, efficiency, usability, operability, interoperability, conformity and environment. We also balance these against costs and pricing, providing full and comprehensive reports, We drive in-house product management meetings, planning, design, development and testing; implementing ways to make sure the product released is right. We may suggest and arrange a simple market test without compromising the product advantage. Everything is driven to get the best possible match between product deliverables and the agreed market need. Make the product perception better before the market has chance to judge, and so sell lots more.
